As i prepare for the birth of my child, i am constantly thinking about things that i want my child to know; things i want them to believe.
The thing i want for them most is to be able to think things through for themself. I want them to believe in their heart of hearts that i believe in them.
I don't expect my child to have all the same beliefs that i have, but i do hope i have the courage to support their conclusions and praise their effort to get to the conclusions.
And every day i will quote them dr. seuss: “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose."
