I'm not surprised. When something like this happens in the western world, media blows it up big time but they wouldn't write about it if it happened in a poor country.
it depends on whether you call Mexico a poor country or not I guess...
but seriously, if it has a higher death rate than normal flu it is a good thing that there are precautions against it.
its interesting drawing a graph comparing a virus to a parasite.
if there was a cure for malaria people would be interested in, well, curing the people who have it. there is a reason parasites stay around, they are rather hard to eliminate. good for us though, we developed anti-viral/anti-retroviral medicines so people can actually do something about flu/HIV/etc...
