I am beliefless. When it comes to understanding where i came from, i am more likely to say "i don't know" than actually give an answer. I just don't see a clear 'answer', despite my Christian position.
Sir David Attenborough, the British broadcaster and naturalist, believes in evolution. I have no problem with this. He is free to believe whatever he wants. I don't need to control his belief system even though i don't agree with it.
Apparently i'm one of the few Christians who believe this because Sir Attenborough keeps getting hate mail for his lack of belief in a Creator.
I am not entirely beliefless, i suppose because this article stirred me up. I do believe. I believe in the rights of people to think for themselves. As a christian, are we supposed to defend each other's rights to think independently. Christ died so that we could have choices. Why do we try to take that away from others?
I admit that i struggle when friends tell me that they're belief system is different. I want to say, "but why?! did you consider XYZ?" I am learning to curb this. It is a slow process. But i believe it is important to allow them to think for themselves. How can we ever grow if we only allow one way of thinking?
This is what i believe.

I totally agree with you on this. I hate it when people, especially Christians, try to force their beliefs and opinions on others.
God gave us the freedom to believe whatever we want. And for those that don't believe in God, then there is no higher being controlling things so you are free to think what you want. So no one has any right to tell anyone what to believe.
Amen. Like you, I usually fall back on the "I don't know" approach. I think it's so stupid to take umbrage over someone's disagreement with you on such a tricky issue.
