Refrigerator-rader

Today is fridge day. This means that the large fridge we were given as a gift is finally being fixed. Now this fridge was not given to us broken. It was given to us used, (read dying). and while we love it dearly, we can not store things in a fridge that does not stay cool.

Today the refrigerator man comes to help us out. (actually, he's here right now and just about to leave) and he took one look at it and said, "it doesn't look good". He sounded like a doctor delivering the news that the baby your expecting is likely to be dead-on-arrival. I thought it was a bit over dramatic. So far he's spent the last hour finding leaks. Yes, thats right not one leak, but lots of leaks.

Finally he called me into the kitchen to give the final diagnosis. "it's not good. Your valve, here (here here here and HERE) all leak. It will cost $$$$$$$$$$ to fix. What i can do for now is fill it up with gas and it will run for a bit, but it will all leak out and you'll be left with a bad fridge again".

"oh" i said.

He must really love fridges because he looked really upset that the fridge was on a quick path to the junk yard.

For some reason, I can totally picture the look on his face.

This is unlike the repair guy my friend called for his sickly old fridge. He wouldn't even come out and look at it when he heard how old it was. "Not worth my time," was all he said. My friend says that warm beer is an acquired taste.
